I was lucky to be able to see a sneak preview of “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”. The film was delightful, hilarious, touching with all around fantastic acting and stunning visuals. This is Terry Gilliam at his best! It’s his story through and through with many nods to his past work.
Jude has a small part as the 2nd incarnation of Tony but is outstanding – funny, appropriately sleazy, vibrant. It makes wonderful sense how they managed to pull off 4 actors playing one role.
The entire cast is extremely impressive with stand outs Verne Troyer and Andrew Garfield stealing the picture for me. You may go in expecting to root for the Tony character, but Anton steals your heart. Definitely the best film I’ve seen all year and a wonderful tribute as Heath Ledger’s last film. Jude and company should be very proud!
