I’ve added one of the first stills from “Breaking and Entering” we’ve seen. Thanks to Wilson.

that pictur reveals why jude cannot be just a character actor but has to be an A list leading man. the eyes show the expressiveness of a character studY but the physical beauty is such that it elevates him to leading man stature. you cannot look like that and remain in the background. the movie going public wouldn’t accept that.

Love the pics! Jude always manages to rise above being just another pretty face. There are many, many handsome leading men out there, but very few of them are able to achieve anything near what Jude does in his work. Even smaller movies like “Wisdom of Crocodiles” are brought to a higher level because of JL’s performance. “Road to Perdition” (and to an extent “Cold Mountain”) proved that he doesn’t have to rely on his good looks to do great work. Really looking forward to Jude’s new movies this year!

Is it me or does Jude seem to smolder in that picture?

If it’s just you, Deb, then it’s just me too!! Yep, he sure does smolder in that picture. Absolutely gorgeous.

Does anyone know if there is a more specific date for the release of Breaking and Entering? I know that it’s supposed to have limited release in February.

Both Comingsoon and HSX now have Sept 30, 2006 as the release date for B&E, but I haven’t heard any official announcement. I don’t know about the Feb date. This is just what I see at Law news http://www.livejournal.com/community/law_news/
Thanks for the b&e update. I’m very disappointed that the release date has been pushed back to September 2006. What a long wait.

The Sunday LA Times did a round up of 2006 movies. B&E lists a “Fall” release date and ATKM lists “TBA” as the release date. Unfortunately, neither listing included a pic of Jude. In the coming months, I guess we can keep an eye out for advance screenings.
Okay, I want more Jude! I hate how his personal problems made him into a hollywood leper of sorts and pushed back his movies. He is still a fabulous actor, and it is upsetting that box office numbers might actually and probably will be affected by his actions. While I don’t condone his behavior, it doesn’t affect his work. The quality of his work speaks for itself. I want him back in the spotlight with accolades for his work. I’m dying to see his new stuff.

I’m waiting to see his new work too. Does anyone know if he is still filming “Holiday”?
{ Lesley | January 28th, 2006 at 9:01 pm }
I don’t think his personal problems had anything to do with the scheduling of the movies. As for ‘Holiday’ they are only at the rehearsal stage, in L.A. Filming starts in Feb. With our luck, the film won’t be shown until 2008!

“With our luck, the film won’t be shown until 2008!”
Aack, don’t say that! Somebody posted on IMDb that Holiday’s release date is Dec 22, 2006, though the source of the info is not given.

On the off chance that any of Jude’s upcoming movies have advanced screenings I thought US list members might be interested in this: http://www.thescreeningexchange.com. Basically, they send an e-mail announcing upcoming screenings based on preferences you select. I’ve seen a couple of good movies months before they were officially released thru The Screening Exchange. It’s simple to register. Best of all – the screenings are free!

Any chance there will be an update soon?

Liz,
I attempted to register for the Screening Exchange but I had a problem with some of the information that they wanted. I was willing to put in my phone #, address, and birthday, but when they asked for my kids’ ages I thought it was too much. I suppose it’s just for marketing, but that’s something I don’t want to reveal. Thanks for the link, anyway.

The kids age thing is just in case you want to preview ‘family’ movies. They want to send you info that’s age appropriate. You don’t have to fill that part in – I didn’t. (I don’t have kids, but even if I did I would’ve skipped it since I would never take my nieces or nephews to anything I haven’t screened beforehand) And I gave my work phone number since my home number is unlisted & they don’t need it. And I also have an alternate e-mail address I use for stuff like that – not that I’m paranoid or anything. LOL

Jude Law is set to play late Beatles manager Brian Epstein in a quirky, hallucinogenic biopic.
After years of talks over The Fifth Beatle project, Broadway producer Vivek Tiwary has written a script which depicts Epstein’s life through historical scenes, dream sequences and hallucinations.
Tiwary hopes to premiere the movie in Epstein and The Beatles’ home city of Liverpool, England, in 2008.
He has the blessing of Epstein’s family and has been working closely with the latter’s former business partner Nat Weiss and assistant Joanne Peterson.
Tiwary also believes Epstein’s August 1967 death of a drug overdose was accidental, not suicide. Epstein was just 32 when he died.
