Casanova Premiere

Last Sunday, Jude attended the US premiere screening of Sienna’s new film Casanova. It took place at the AFI Fest in Hollywood. Sienna commented that the couple are “working things out” and said she was happy that he was there to support her and the film. We wish them the best.

Click here for photos from the event, and keep checking – I’ll be adding more as I get them.

Whoa! Thanks for these. He’s looking quite sharp again isn’t he? I love the suit and that smile.

Thanks for the lovely pictures. It’s lovely to see Jude looking happy again. The only thing that would made ME happier would be to see an article in Variety announcing that he’s signed on for a new movie. :-)

So glad to see someting new. Jude always looks the same when he is at Premiere.

As someone else said, he’s looking sharp again. I haven’t seen him look this way for a while. It almost seems as if the events of the past few months never happened.

“It almost seems as if the events of the past few months never happened.”

That makes me wonder a bit whether we all made too much of a deal over these few months. Yes he has been looking distressed and scruffy, and I don’t doubt that these events put him under a lot of stress. But may be much of the distress is with the paps? Who knows? I’ve been watching him for a few years and he has always looked scruffy when he’s just hanging about. He seems to really hate shaving and to like old comfy clothes like T-shirts that have holes in them. I’ve seen pictures of him looking almost like a homeless person. Then, when he has to make a public appearance, tada! the golden prince pops out.

Great Pic’s! It’s nice to hear something postive and see him smileing…. in this case alot.

I wish them both the best!

Wonderful pics! I think the press makes too much of pretty much everything to do with celebs. It’s not like what Jude did was a crime. Tacky, yeah, but criminal? Hardly!
Best to both of them. It’s great that he stepped back & let Sienna shine. (And he looks mahvelous!)

I always get a little nervous when I get quoted. My husband hates shaving too and wouldn’t do it at all if he could get away with it. He also likes wearing his beat up old t-shirts and jeans when he’s around the house working, etc., so I guess I really understand the need to be casual. What I meant with Jude, however, is that even after all that turmoil, these pics have shown me the same actor I first became acquainted with a year ago. I looked at him and thought I’d seen him before and that he looked the same as ever.

Finally, for him being back with Sienna is a good thing.I hope this time they’ll not make suffer each other…

I didn’t mean to make you nervous Deb! Yeah I know what you mean. He looks the same as he did last year at the Sky Captain, Closer etc premiers — our golden prince. But when he’s not working or making a public appearance, he doesn’t seem to care what he looks like. The pap pics over the years show him schlepping around the neighbourhood unshaven and wearing the same old beat up clothes all the time. Now, when these events of the summer happened, every body seems to think he’s gotten all run down when they see these pics of him. All I’m saying is, he’s always looked like that and may be we are over-dramatizing things.

Jude looks smashing even when he’s scruffy. But, as they say, “he cleans up real good!”

Maybe Jude thought originally that if he looked and dressed “scruffy” the paps wouldn’t want to take his picture so often. As we know, it didn’t work. :-) I have no problems myself with his scruffy, “off duty” persona, in fact, I like it!

Oooooh! He looks happy! That makes me happy!

The pics are great. I only wish Jude had a movie coming out now. It sounds like it could be a long wait before All The King’s Men and I don’t know about the release time for Breaking and Entering. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Deb, I think it’s set to open next spring. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they pushed it back for Oscar season, as every time Jude has worked with Anthony Minghella in the past, he’s been nominated.

jude seems much happier and at peace with himself. maybe he’s come to terms with where he is now. everything, good or bad, is a learning experience. as for how he looks now….beauty is jude law….lovliness is jude law….my idol is jude law.

A poster at another site pointed out this remark by Kate Winslet, from an interview with her in Harper’s Bazaar:

“Kate hasn’t watched All the King’s Men but refers to the cast, which includes Sean Penn, Jude Law, and Mark Ruffalo, as “an orgasm.” Law, whom she plays opposite, gives the revelatory performance of his career, she
says, “to the point where I thought, ‘Wow. Jesus Christ. You’ve got some chops.’”

I want to see ATKM so bad.

WoW! that was some review brideshead, where did you see the
post ? and what issue of Haper Barzzar is it in ? I would love to read it.

    Erica,

The article wasn’t a review of the movie. It’s an interview with Kate Winslet. I just posted the snippet quoting Kate on Jude. The whole interview is here (link provided by a poster at the Law News site):

he’s happy and contented. it shows all over his face. we, as his fans, are so sensitive to his needs. we just sense when he’s stressed out or when life is going well for him. i hope this chapter continues for a long time after what he’s been thru. he looks so lovely as well.

Kind of off this topic – Does anyone know if JL’s appearance on AMC Sunday Morning Shootout here in the US a year or so ago is available online anywhere? Or does anyone have a copy they’d be willing to share? I e-mailed AMC about possible reruns (several times) and got no response.
    Thanks!

Shootout on DVD. Did a little more digging online & it appears that season 1 of Shootout will be out on DVD in late Dec. http://www.shootoutdvd.com/ They mention Jude on the site, but wasn’t he on in Season 2? (unfortunately, I remember seeing your website announcement a month *after* the show had aired, darn)
